I have often heard Hollywood being referred to as a city paved with broken dreams. No one can doubt the despair and injustice that is seen on the streets daily. But when that despair started to sink into my heart over the course of years of failure, hope pulled me out of my despair catalyzed by the support of my amazing community, encouragement of my friends, and most important of all, the hope I found in Jesus Christ stamping his giant YES on my life.
I saw an opportunity to have an environment that exudes hope, is refreshing to the soul, and brings back the FUN of our craft or hobby. I wanted to create a venue where artists and friends from all walks of life could meet to celebrate and get inspired.
Basilea was a great source of support. They encouraged me to run with the idea and provided the venue. It’s been a pleasure working with Chaz, writing with Joshua, performing at various open mic’s around LA, and having a place to invite people back to. There is a whole new level of intimacy formed. It’s genuine, organic, and cool.
Each show has a general theme with about 10-15 artists performing. On a first come first serve basis, artists are invited to display their art and photography. The first show, Streaming Hope, kicked off onthe 30th of March, the second show Streaming Hope: The Love Sonnets was on the 27th of April, the next one will be on the 25th of May, Streaming Hope: Identity.
It is a passion of mine to share my poetry and create a fun environment for others. However, my favorite part is looking down from the balcony and seeing new and familiar faces behind the microphone applauded for being their creative selves.
Streaming Hope is where new and old friends meet to celebrate their creativity, and share stories through mediums of art, photography, spoken word, comedy, and acoustic music on the last Friday of every month. So come one, come all and celebrate with us!

“Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a parched land,” Isaiah 32:2.
